How I found this work

I have been looking for my mission in life, since I was a young person.  I hadn't found it in two degrees from the University.  In the late 1980’s, I found myself on a healing track.  I was attending monthly Bioenergetics workshops where we learned how to facilitate the gentle bioenergetics methods of Eva Reich, MD and other healing modalities (Healing/Therapeutic Touch, Polarity Therapy, Baby Butterfly massage being the main ones) as well as doing group personal process work.  It was during a guided healing session that I had a profound experience that pointed me in the direction of a healing career.  Since my mentors were massage therapists and a State license in massage therapy seemed a very proper course of action, I went to massage school, with the full intention of training in Polarity Therapy as well.  Massage school was just the beginning of my journey, as you can see by the partial bio above.

I have worked in many different settings: out calls, hair salon, medical clinic, spa, day spa, chiropractic office, massage therapy clinic, and health club.

I founded Ariel Massotherapy in July, 1995.

Why “Ariel Massotherapy”?

This name came to me, one afternoon is 1991.  I was meeting with another massage therapist brainstorming names for a joint venture. We were creating an on-site massage venture, and had rented a space at a local health fare to promote it.

During a break in our session, "Ariel Massotherapy" popped into my head and I knew that this was to be the name of my business.  I had never seen or heard the name Ariel before.  Since then I have found that “Ariel” means “Lion (or Strength) of God” in Hebrew, that it was one of seven names for the city of Jerusalem, and that it was the name of the “Little Mermaid” (a movie I had not seen) and, later, the first name of a prominent Israeli leader.
